Location: Mobile Sauna Sites, Central Yard, and Remote Work
Job Type: Full-Time - 40 hours PW (flexible working hours, including early mornings/evenings/weekends as needed)
Salary: £27 - 35k (based on experience)
Role Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising all sauna site operations. Working closely with the Site Supervisor, they ensure efficiency, consistency, and quality across locations.
This role is strategic yet hands-on, requiring someone who can implement systems, manage staff performance, and continually improve operational workflows. The Operations Manager ensures that teams are supported, supply chains run smoothly, and customer service standards remain high.
Approximately 50% of this role is remote but will need to be in the East/West Sussex area, with the remainder spent visiting sauna locations, handling logistics, and ensuring efficient site management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Oversight & Efficiency
Oversee all sauna site operations, ensuring consistency in service, staffing, and logistics.
Work closely with the Site Supervisor to identify and resolve operational challenges.
Implement and refine systems and processes to improve efficiency.
Manage staff rotas and stock logistics.
Monitor business performance metrics to ensure targets are met.
2. Staff Management, Hiring & Development
Lead staff communications, ensuring all team members receive and understand operational updates.
Oversee staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage across all sites.
Be initial POC for staff and delegate and organise efficient to solve issues (staff sickness, etc).
Advertise job vacancies, screen applications, and coordinate the hiring process for new sauna staff.
Conduct interviews and hiring assessments to bring in suitable team members.
Develop training materials and operational manuals to standardise procedures.
Conduct staff performance reviews, offering training and feedback as needed.
Address escalated staff issues, working with the Site Supervisor to resolve concerns.
Foster a positive and motivated team environment.
3. Logistics & Maintenance
Ensure all sites are well-maintained, implementing a preventative maintenance plan.
Oversee the procurement and stock management of sauna supplies.
Work with external suppliers and contractors to handle major site maintenance needs.
4. Customer Experience & Service Standards
Monitor and enhance customer service quality across all locations.
Responding to customer feedback that gets sent on from Admin team.
Manage customer service escalations, ensuring timely and professional resolutions.
5. New Site Openings & Growth Strategy
Plan and execute new site openings, coordinating logistics and staff training.
Ensure all required materials and stock are prepared and delivered on time.
Work closely with the Site Supervisor to refine operational manuals.
Expectations & Ways of Working
Maintain clear and proactive communication with the founders and Site Supervisor.
Take ownership of operational responsibilities without requiring micromanagement.
Implement structured systems to improve efficiency and accountability.
Be available to problem-solve and support the team as needed.
Continuously refine and improve operations to support business growth.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in an operational leadership role, ideally in a multi-site or hospitality-focused business.
Strong process-driven mindset, with experience improving efficiency.
Excellent people management skills, with experience leading and developing teams.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Confident with problem-solving and handling escalations.
Experience in hiring and onboarding new staff.
Basic maintenance/technical knowledge is desirable but not essential.
Full UK driving licence required.

Worthing Sauna Host
We are hiring…
Luna Hut is looking for 1 part-time sauna hosts to join our growing team and spread the sauna love!
The role:
We are looking to recruit 1 person on a part-time basis to help manage Luna Hut at Splashpoint, Worthing. These positions require availability for two days between Thursday and Sunday, weekend work is required.
A standard sauna working day is up to 7 hours and includes physical work with early starts in all weather, plus the sauna heat. Additionally, you have to work with the needs of many people - so it is not a role that is suited to everyone.
Conversely you will be working in an exciting and rapidly growing sector whilst meeting interesting people and helping them to commit to a wellbeing practice daily.
Key responsibilities:
Lighting, setting up and maintaining the sauna at the beginning of the day (this can be very early 6.30am starts for morning shifts).
Moving wood from outside bins to inside the sauna
Carrying water for drinking dispensers and water bucket in sauna
Maintaining the stove to ensure the sauna comes up to temperature efficiently, and is maintained throughout each session (we record temperature each hour)
Welcoming pre-booked and walk-in customers to their sauna sessions and providing a short welcome (to include health and safety) for each session and dealing with any enquiries
Being attentive to customer needs; making sure they are sticking to the sauna guidance, popping into the sauna to add steam if required, offering sauna hats
Managing timings of individuals and groups; making sure people vacate in a timely manner and the space flows orderly
Keeping the sauna area tidy (we record status each hour)
Responding to messages from customers via phone and online who are running late, need directions or have another question
Uploading Instagram stories from your shift promoting the sauna
Answering questions from interested parties about what the sauna is and how they can book
Cleaning and closing the sauna at the end of the day
Skills required:
Based locally
Able to work weekends, flexible hours and long days, including evenings in all weathers
Ability to work independently
Punctual, reliable, responsive
Team player; easy and friendly to collaborate with
Excellent communication skills and manner, good awareness of people’s needs
Acute attention to detail, tidy and organised
Physical ability work in a sauna (handle heat, carry wood & water, clean benches)
Comfortable managing a hot wood-burning stove and sauna environment
Desirable (but not essential):
First aid and/or open water lifeguard qualifications
Knowledge about the benefits of sauna use

Hours: 7 hour working day. Various shift patterns spanning across 6.30am starts and later shifts finishing at 8.30pm (with a structured lunch break).
